In a recent tweet, Jared Leto just unveiled a first look at the upcoming movie, ‘Tron: Ares,’ set to premiere in 2025.

Leto’s tweet, featuring a sneak peek of the film, excited fans with the message that read:

“ARE YOU READY? ‘TRON: ARES 2025.’ See you on the grid…”

The first look at the movie received enthusiastic responses from fans, eagerly anticipating the franchise’s return. One of the fans wrote:

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, ‘Tron: Ares‘ marks the third installment in the Tron franchise. Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film continues the story with Leto portraying Ares, a sentient program exploring the human world.

The cast of ‘Tron: Ares’ is star-studded, featuring Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, and the recently announced Gillian Anderson in a yet-to-be-disclosed role. Additional cast members include Hasan Minhaj and Arturo Castro.

Originally scheduled to begin principal photography in Vancouver on August 14, 2023, the production faced delays due to the Writers Guild of America and the SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023. Following the resolution of the strikes, filming officially commenced after the holiday season of the same year, with Jeff Cronenweth as cinematographer.

‘Tron: Ares’ follows its predecessors, with the original 1982 film praised for its groundbreaking visual effects and the 2010 sequel, ‘Tron: Legacy,’ grossing over $400 million. As for now, it’s known that the film is set to light up theaters in 2025.
