Colin Farrell Is Back As The Penguin In ‘Batman’ Spinoff Series, The Official Trailer Revealed

The new series picks up one week after where ‘The Batman’ movie ended.

Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot talks about a childhood gangster who became a hero to many after he died in ‘The Penguin’ trailer. He asks someone off-screen:

“Can you imagine, to be remembered like that?”

The trailer gives us a first look at Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni. The cast also includes Michael Zegen, Alberto Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, and many others in roles we don’t know much about yet.

There are rumors that Robert Pattinson might come back as Batman. But, Warner Bros. and DC Studios haven’t confirmed this yet.

‘The Penguin’ Expands Reeves’ Batman Universe

The Max series will follow The Penguin as he tries to become the top criminal in Gotham. This story will lead into Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman Part II.’ It also hints at a new TV series about the Gotham City Police Department and more movies about villains.

‘The Penguin’ is the only new content from The Batman Saga coming in the next two years because ‘The Batman Part II’ was delayed until October 2026. The reason is reportedly the unfinished script.

The limited show had to stop filming in June 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America strike but finished in February 2024 after starting again in November 2023. It will have eight episodes and start this fall on Max.
