‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Director Teases Sequel Plans

The franchise may see a new film depending on the prequel’s reception.

‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ recently came out to follow the early stages of an invasion by creatures with acute hearing sense. Michael Sarnoski directed the prequel to 2018’s ‘A Quiet Place’ and teased another sequel while talking about it in a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I mean, definitely a good portion of those people [who survive the events of ‘Day One’] probably ended up on the island that we see in Part Two of ‘A Quiet Place.’ I think there’s a good chance that they’re there, and definitely there’s a good chance we’re going to see them again.”

He continued:

“I just think they did an incredible job. And I think Paramount would be really happy to see where they ended up. I don’t think there are any super-specific plans. But I would not be surprised if that happens. So that’s a very loose, unofficial sequel tease.”

The Prequel’s Box Office Performance And Chances Of A Sequel

‘Day One’ earned $98 million against a $67 million budget since its release on June 28. The previous installments were box office successes with $341 million and $297 million respectively.

The prequel currently stands lower than the first two films but is expected to reach around $175 million domestically by the end. If the final results are enough to kick off another sequel, there’s a chance that some familiar faces may return.

Djimon Hounsou’s Henri appeared in ‘Day One’ as the leader of the island after originally dying in ‘A Quiet Place Part II.’ He might make another appearance in the franchise if the new film takes place between the two.
