A Clint Eastwood Classic Will Soon Get A Remake

‘A Fistful of Dollars’ is getting a new remake from the original production company.

The production for the ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ remake is underway, according to recent news from Deadline.

Jolly Film comes back to produce the remake along with Gianni Nunnari and Simon Horsman’s Euro Gang Entertainment and FPC’s Enzo Sisti. Sisti says of the new project:

“I am delighted to partner with Gianni again having just worked with him on ‘Those About to Die,’ and with Simon on the remake of this classic film, which created a whole new sub-genre in film spawning over 500 European westerns.”

Nunnari and Horsman add:

“Enzo is one of the most experienced producers in the film business, and we are fortunate to call him our partner on this incredible project. We are determined to produce a remake that does justice to the great Sergio Leone’s classic.”

The upcoming film’s director, writer, and cast are yet to be revealed as of now, since the production is still in its early stages.

About The Original Film

The remake is expected to be in English, though it’s unofficial. The plot will likely follow the original film, which was adapted from the Japanese movie ‘Yojimbo.’

Adriano Bolzoni, Mark Lowell, and Victor Andres Catena wrote ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ in 1964, and Sergio Leone directed.

Clint Eastwood starred as an unnamed gunslinger playing two rival families in a Mexican village against each other. Marianne Koch, Josef Effer, Wolfgang Lukschy, Gian Maria Volonte, and Daniel Martin appeared in supporting roles.

The 1964 original led to two sequels: ‘For a Few Dollars More’ in 1965 and ‘The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly’ in 1966. Eastwood’s unnamed character was the protagonist in all three films called the ‘Man with No Name Trilogy.’
