Marvel Reveals If We May See An ‘Avengers’ TV Series On Disney+

Producer Brad Winderbaum said the team’s story works better in films due to the way they come together for major events.

Marvel Studios recently confirmed that an ‘Avengers’ TV series will not be coming to Disney+. Producer Brad Winderbaum explained why the idea doesn’t fit the way the Avengers’ stories are usually told.

Winderbaum told CinemaBlend that the Avengers team comes together during major events, which makes sense in movies but would be difficult to replicate in a TV show. “The Avengers are about big moments when Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have to assemble,” he said.

There’s always a big event that brings them together in films, but Winderbaum thinks doing that in every episode in a series would be hard. “In a feature film, which is a statement piece, it makes sense that there’s an event that galvanizes them all,” he explained. “I think that on a long-form television show, it becomes more of a challenge to have, ‘There came a day, every day.'”

This kind of storyline works in the comics, but it’s harder to translate into a long-form TV show. The Avengers often assemble and disassemble in comics because there are always major events happening in the Marvel universe. But Winderbaum said “it would be a very unique pattern for a television show.”

A TV show isn’t planned, but two new Avengers movies are on the way: ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to release on May 1, 2026, and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will follow on May 7, 2027.

If you want to catch up on the Avengers’ past adventures, every Marvel movie featuring the team is available to stream on Disney+.
