J.K. Rowling Reveals If Her New Novel Will Be A Space Odyssey

The writer updated fans on her upcoming three novels.

J.K. Rowling began work on a ‘futuristic’ book, she revealed in a new post on X in response to a fan’s question about whether she might write a space odyssey.

“There are three different books I could do after ‘Strike,’ all of which I’ve started because I’m a deranged workaholic,” the writer said. “The one I’m planning to finish first is futuristic, but not a space odyssey, sorry. Definitely earthbound.”

Rowling started her ‘Strike’ series in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. She announced its eighth book, ‘The Hallmarked Man,’ in March and later mentioned two more follow-ups in the works during a chat with The Times of London.

“I’ve got six books in my head,” she shared about her plans. “I’ve got the one I’m currently writing. There’ll be two more ‘Strike’ books, and then there are three more books that I want to get to.”

The ‘Strike’ franchise follows Cormoran Strike, a war veteran turned private detective. BBC/HBO works on the sixth season of its TV adaptation at the moment.

The show’s Season 5 debuted on BBC1 in December 2022, attracting 8 million viewers. Throughout its four episodes, it maintained an average viewership of 6.9 million.
