Lewis Pullman Explains The ‘Mistake’ Behind Controversial Thunderbolts* AI Poster

The Bob/Sentry actor addressed the rumors that AI was used to design the film’s latest poster.

Marvel released the first trailer and poster for ‘Thunderbolts*’ earlier this week. Soon after, many began speculating that the poster was AI-generated because Lewis Pullman’s Sentry appeared to have six fingers in the left corner where he was wincing from Bucky’s gun being pushed against his face.

When Collider recently questioned Pullman about the controversy, he said, “I’ve heard about the six-finger thing. But if you look closely, there’s actually no mistakes going on. I actually spent some time because I was like, ‘Did they give me a sixth finger?’ But they didn’t.”

“It’s just cropped at the right point where it looks like there’s an extra tip happening or something. But that’s about it,” the actor added. “I love that.”

Pullman’s Bob/Sentry appeared briefly in the recent ‘Thunderbolts*’ trailer in what seemed to be Avengers Tower along with the rest of the anti-hero team. This sparked further rumors that his character had a major role in the plot.

Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) returned in the film to team up with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) for a new mission.

Jake Schreier directed, with Scarlett Johansson serving as an executive producer alongside Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez.

‘Thunderbolts*’ will see release on May 2, 2025.
