Marvel has been setting up a potential ‘Young Avengers’ film or show since the beginning of The Multiverse Saga. There’s still no confirmation on the project, but with the introduction of Billy Maximoff in ‘Agatha All Along,’ the chances are higher than ever.
Showrunner Jac Schaeffer herself is also excited about a possible ‘Young Avengers’ feature. “I don’t have anything for that, but I love those characters, and really, I love the actors. I just think if ‘Young Avengers’ were to happen like, man, that is a murderer’s row,” she recently told Screen Rant. “It would be great.”
Hints of a ‘Young Avengers’ project came in 2023’s ‘The Marvels.’ At the film’s ending, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel visited Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop with the idea of assembling a new superhero team.
If Marvel moves forward with that concept, Vellani sees Kamala as a strong leader for the group. “She is not only the glue of the Marvels but could be the glue of the younger Avengers group because she is mature, and she is intelligent, and she also has all this knowledge about being superheroes and teamwork and how to do it in a way that’s ideal and works for everyone,” the actress shared with Screen Rant last year.
Marvel currently has two new ‘Avengers’ movies set for 2026 and 2027. The sequels are expected to bring back various heroes and villains while bringing in new ones like Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
