‘Oppenheimer’ Actor Cillian Murphy Admits Oscar Win Didn’t Change His Life At All

Murphy won the Best Actor for his performance in the Christopher Nolan-directed film last year.

Cillian Murphy discussed whether winning the Academy Award for 2023’s ‘Oppenheimer’ made any difference in his life in a recent interview with The Sunday Times.

“Genuinely, honestly, no,” the actor admitted, adding, “but if it helps in any way [to produce more Big Things Films work], that’s great. If it can help getting the stories told, brilliant.”

Murphy co-founded Big Thing Films with Alan Moloney. The first project from the production company, ‘Small Things Like These,’ premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February. Starring Murphy in the lead role, it will soon see release in Ireland and the U.K. on November 1.

The actor will also return to his role as Thomas Shelby from ‘Peaky Blinders’ in Netflix’s upcoming movie, ‘The Immortal Man.’ Tom Harper will direct the film, taking place during World War II and after the events of the show’s finale.

The cast will also include Steven Graham as Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne, Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs, along with Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Ian Peck, and Jay Lycurgo.

Release date is yet to be announced, but filming for the project started in September.
