Milla Jovovich Joins George A. Romero’s Final Zombie Film: ‘Twilight Of The Dead’

Suzanne Romero, wife of the George A. Romero, completed the script for the unfisnished film ‘Twilight of the Dead’. So the movie has now found its leads.

‘Resident Evil’ star Milla Jovovich joined George A. Romero’s final project ‘Twilight of The Dead.’

Deadline reports that Jovovich joined the project along with ‘Upgrade’s’ Betty Gabriel. There are no details on their roles.

‘Night of The Living Dead’ director George A. Romero passed away in 2017, and the script for the movie was never completed. Romero’s wife Suzanne Romero completed the script for ‘Twilight of the Dead.’

Director Brad Anderson is now set to direct. He shared that the film is intense but also emotional. “I see this film in the same way as successful post-apocalyptic thrillers such as ‘I Am Legend,’ ‘A Quiet Place,’ ‘The Road,’ and ‘The Last of Us,’” he said. “When I first read ‘Twilight of The Dead,’ I teared up at the end. Which is weird for a film of this type. But it has that kind of pull, that combo of horror and heartbreak that I love.”

Suzanne Romero is developing the script with screenwriters Joe Knetter, Robert L. Lucas and Paolo Zelati. They worked together on the original script before Romero’s death.

“I gave [Zelati] my full blessing as long as I could be there every step of the way for it to remain true to George’s vision,” said Suzanne Romero in a previous statement. “We had a solid treatment and the beginning of the script. I can 100 percent say that George would be incredibly happy to see this continue. He wanted this to be his final stamp on the zombie genre.”

‘Twilight of The Dead’ will be ‘set on a tropical island. As the last humans on Earth, survivors are caught between different groups of the undead.
