Key ‘Euphoria’ Star Announces Departure Ahead Of Season 3

Her character won’t be part of the story in Season 3.

Storm Reid recently revealed that she won’t return for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3. Reid played Rue’s younger sister, Gia Bennett, in previous seasons.

The actress shared the news with Rotten Tomatoes at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards, saying, “Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning for the third season, but I’m so, so indebted to the cast and crew of that show [and] to HBO. ‘Euphoria’ is a really special thing.”

‘Euphoria’ is set to start production on its third season in January, three years after its Season 2 premiere. The HBO show’s second season drew in a major audience, with about 16 million each episode, before concluding in February 2022.

Since then, the production for new episodes faced several delays, leading to cancellation news, but HBO confirmed in July that it would continue as planned.

Despite rumors that some of the cast members committed to other projects, most of the original actors will return for the next season, which will follow the characters after high school graduation. Returning names include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow.
