Henry Cavill Is Rumored To Join MCU But Not As Doctor Doom

If the rumors are to go by, the ‘Justice League’ star is all set to join the Marvel family.

After a quick appearance as Superman in ‘Black Adam’ in 2022, Henry Cavill was left searching for a new superhero role. Then came rumors with the announcement of a new ‘Fantastic Four’ movie, suggesting Cavill might play Doctor Doom in the MCU.

However, according to some new gossip from a supposed Marvel insider on X, the actor won’t be playing Doom. When a fan on social media said that the 40-year-old would be a perfect choice for the character, a user named MyTimeToShineH dropped a rumor that he has his sights set on a different character in an upcoming Marvel movie.

The Actor Is Up For The Role Of Captain Britain

There’s been no official word yet from Henry Cavill or Marvel Studios about him taking on any role. But the ex-Superman actor has been open about his interest in the Marvel universe since 2021. He even mentioned in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that there’s a specific hero he’d like to play:

“I have the internet, and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain. That would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that – like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

Captain Britain/Brian Braddock, who got his magical powers from Merlyn, first appeared in comics in 1976. Kevin Feige has previously hinted that the character could make his debut in the MCU at some point. So, it might be possible that we’ll see Cavill taking on the part.
