‘A Zombie Franchise That Never Ends’: ‘The Walking Dead’ Might Continue Forever According To The Boss

On February 25, 2024, fans saw the return of Rick and Michonne in ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.’ It’s a new part of the zombie story that keeps growing, showing there’s always more to tell.

‘The Walking Dead’ franchise defies expectations by continually expanding its universe. As per Variety, the director of ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ recently argued there’s no end on the horizon.

Looking ahead, Scott Gimple envisions ‘The Walking Dead’ as a never-ending story, one that could continue to evolve and expand in various forms:

“I think it can go on forever. Robert Kirkman pitched it as the zombie movie that never ends. And even though he ended the comics, I am trying to fulfill his vision and keep it going in classic ways, with characters you know, that you wouldn’t even expect very different experimental way.”

This remark suggests that fans can expect more turns and developments in ‘The Walking Dead’ world.

The latest addition, ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live‘ premiered on AMC and AMC+ on February 25, 2024. This new series is the sixth spin-off and overall the seventh series within the franchise.

Created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, ‘The Ones Who Live’ not only continues the story post the original series but also reunites fan-favorite characters Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Pollyanna McIntosh.
