‘Dune 2’ Actor Dave Bautista Reveals His ‘Man Crush’ On Josh Brolin

In the latest installment of the ‘Dune’ series, Dave Bautista steps into the shoes of Beast Rabban opposite Josh Brolin’s Gurney Halleck.

During the Sunday premiere of ‘Dune 2’ in New York City, Bautista opened up about his time on set with a lineup of well-known actors. Despite feeling a bit ‘intimidated’ by the cast members including Stellan Skarsgård, Timothée Chalamet, Christopher Walken, and Zendaya, the actor mentioned having a crush on one of his co-stars:

“God, I have a man crush, a huge man crush on Josh Brolin. I love him as a performer, as a human being.”

Dave Bautista and Josh Brolin have a history of working together that goes back to their days in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Bautista playing Drax in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ and Brolin portraying Thanos in ‘The Avengers.’ Reflecting on their relationship, Dave noted:

“That’s where we got to know each other. I’ve known Josh for years and we really got, I think, close during our conversations, very intimate conversations during our Marvel years.”

He Also Admires Their Director

In addition to praising his co-stars, Bautista shared his excitement about working under the direction of Denis Villeneuve for ‘Dune 2,’ where his character enjoys more depth and screen time compared to the first film. Discussing his character’s development, the actor said:

“I was dying to have this conversation about the character because he’s more fleshed out, he’s more developed in this. And I said, ‘Let’s talk about it. Who is he? What do you think?’ And he said, ‘Let me dream about it tonight and I’ll tell you tomorrow.’ I thought that was the best answer I’ve ever gotten from anyone in my life. It just gave me chills.”

As for the movie itself, ‘Dune 2’ is gearing up for its US release on March 1. This film continues the story from the first part, featuring Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, with newcomers Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV.

The movie dives into the world of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel.
