In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Stephen Amell of The CW’s ‘Arrow’ shared his one condition for potentially rejoining the DC Universe (DCU) under the helm of James Gunn.
While the actor expressed openness to reprising his role, he laid out a clear condition: his participation depends on the creative direction of Gunn’s DCU. Conveying a balanced perspective on the matter, he said:
“I don’t know. I think it would be really helpful to maybe see a frame of footage from one of the movies before I decide if I want to be a part of it. I loved playing Oliver Queen, and I don’t feel like being in the cinematic universe would validate that character. You know, we did eight seasons, we did 170 episodes, and I wouldn’t change a thing. So, you know, if he calls, great, if he doesn’t, fine!”
Did Gunn Offer Amell the Arrow Role?
‘Arrow,‘ which concluded after its eight-season run, set the stage for the success of DC’s characters on the small screen. To date, Gunn hasn’t extended an offer to Amell for the role of Green Arrow or any other character within the DCU.
Meanwhile, Amell is entering a new phase in his career, soon to be seen in NBC’s ‘Suits’ spin-off, ‘Suits: LA,‘ where he will portray Ted Black. Besides, fans of Amell can look forward to his upcoming film, ‘Code 8: Part II,‘ releasing on Netflix on February 28.
