During an event at AwesomeCon in Washington, D.C., Charlie Cox talked about the ongoing production of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ When asked about working again with Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, he called them the ‘heartbeat of the show’ and explained:
“Aw it’s so cool, man. So cool. Yeah, it was pretty heartbreaking when they weren’t around initially. When we came back to filming and they had made some changes, which you guys obviously probably read about and stuff, you know, it was clear that Foggy and Karen are kind of the heartbeat of our show. They always were.”
Sharing his happiness, the Matt Murdock actor added:
“So [it feels] really special to have them back. Huge shout out to Deborah and to Elden. I know there’s been photos, there were some set photos that came out, so I know I can talk about it because it’s on the internet. But it was really sweet to have some scenes together again.”
The initial announcement that Woll’s Karen Page and Henson’s Foggy Nelson might not have significant roles in the new series led to a stir among fans. In response, Marvel decided to bring both characters back as the original Netflix series underwent a reboot.
A Reunion Of The Original Cast
Leaked set photos from February 2024 confirmed the characters’ reunion, showing Cox’s Matt Murdock with Karen and Foggy. The photos also captured Wilson Bethel returning as a classic Daredevil villain, Bullseye.
Previous videos from the set showed Jon Bernthal’s Punisher back in the Hell’s Kitchen, as he cold-bloodedly shot a new MCU hero, White Tiger. Bernthal teased fans about his return with a recent post on Instagram, as well, by referring to his character’s killing phrase, ‘One batch, two batch.’
In ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ we’ll get to see more of Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin after he made his way into the MCU with appearances in ‘Hawkeye’ and ‘Echo.’
Despite some of the cast details, the specifics of the plot and the series’ release date still remain under wraps.
