Kirsten Dunst Hated The Upside-Down Kiss In Spider-Man: ‘It Was Miserable’

The scene wasn’t as easy as it looked on screen.

Kirsten Dunst appeared on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ to promote her new film ‘Civil War.’ She also revealed that her upside-down kiss with Tobey Maguire in 2002’s ‘Spider-Man’ wasn’t fun to make. The actress said:

“I remember [director] Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired, but also he really wanted to make it special, even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it.”

She explained:

“It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn’t breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him.”

Dunst and Maguire worked on three ‘Spider-Man’ films with Sam Raimi.

A New Film With The Original Cast May Come Out

‘Spider-Man 3’ actor Thomas Haden Church recently mentioned a possible reunion between the director and the main cast. He told ComicBook:

“There’s been some rumours that they might ask me to do another ‘Spider-Man,’ and I’d do it tomorrow. You know, they’ve never asked me to show up in another movie, another Marvel film.”

Church’s words went on:

“But, you know, I think Sam is gonna do another ‘Spider-Man’ with Tobey… They had an option for me to do ‘Spider-Man 4’ when there was going to be a ‘Spider-Man 4.’ They had an option for me to come back. So, if it happens, that would be fantastic. I’m getting a little old.”

Tobey Maguire made a guest appearance in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ in 2021. Sam Raimi joined Marvel to direct ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’ the next year.
