George R.R. Martin Addresses Game Of Thrones’ Future After Shelved Spinoff

Jon Snow series won’t happen now, but George R.R. Martin is working on a new story.

Jon Snow spinoff is no longer happening, but George R.R. Martin says there’s still something exciting on the horizon.

Martin is bringing fans a new series called ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.’ This show is based on his own stories and will tell us about Dunk (Ser Duncan the Tall) and Egg (who will become King Aegon V Targaryen). Dunk and Egg will be played by Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell.

Martin’s recent blog post reveals he is really excited about these two actors. He thinks we’re going to like Claffey as Dunk because, even though he’s not as tall as Dunk is supposed to be, he’s still pretty tall and did a great job in his auditions:

“Peter Claffey will play Dunk. He’s a former professional rugby player turned actor. And he’s tall. Ok, maybe not quite as tall as Ser Duncan the Tall, but still plenty tall, and with the magic of television… His readings were terrific. I think you’re going to love him.”

Ansell, who will play Egg, is also getting ready for his role by shaving his head.

Jon Snow Spinoff Shelved Indefinitely

The Jon Snow series was first talked about in June 2022, but it didn’t get the official green light.

Kit Harington recently stated that they couldn’t find the perfect story to work on, so they decided to stop working on the Jon Snow series. But it’s not all sad news — Harington said that they might come back to it in the future.

‘Dunk and Egg’ takes place about 100 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones.’ The show is set to come out in late 2025 on HBO. While you wait, you can revisit GoT or watch ‘House of the Dragon’ on Max.

Harington isn’t just waiting around, though. He’s busy with a new movie called ‘Blood for Dust.’ It comes out on April 19.
