Bill Skarsgård Admits He’s Disappointed With The Crow Sequel

Skarsgård admitted he isn’t happy with how ‘The Crow’ ends.

‘IT’ star Bill Skarsgård recently shared his feelings about his role in ‘The Crow.’

In an interview with Esquire, Skarsgård revealed he isn’t happy with how the movie ends. He said he would prefer a more definite conclusion rather than an ending that suggests a sequel:

“I personally preferred something more definitive.”

He also talked about the pressure he felt from fan expectations and how dealing with fame can be hard:

“I’m trying to view the fame aspect as a challenge and navigate through it in a way that I’ll find happiness. I really don’t think my line of profession is a recipe for happiness or contentment. Not a lot of us are happy. And the more the fame is increased, the more turbulent and scary life becomes.”

Skarsgård remained discreet about his return as Pennywise in the ‘IT’ prequel ‘Welcome to Derry.’ The film is set to premiere on Max in 2025.

The Movie’s First Look Raised Eyebrows

The first images and trailer for the movie got mixed-to-negative reactions from fans. Many fans compared Skarsgård’s look to Jared Leto’s Joker from ‘Suicide Squad’ and even to modern emo musicians. Some fans on social media criticized the new look as it strays too far from the 1994 version starring Brandon Lee.

Sanders defended the new look, though. He explained it was inspired by his own experiences in 1990s London and modern influences like Post Malone and Lil Peep. You can read more about the reactions here.

‘The Crow’ is directed by Rupert Sanders, with a screenplay by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider. The story follows Eric and his girlfriend Shelly (FKA Twigs),- who are brutally murdered. Eric gets a chance to come back to life and seek revenge on their killers.

‘The Crow’ is set to release on August 23. The 1994 version will have a 4K release on May 7.
