James Gunn Teases ‘Extraordinary’ Chemistry Between David Corenswet And Rachel Brosnahan

He called their first screen test ‘like magic.’

James Gunn has some exciting news about ‘Superman’s David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.

Gunn celebrated the anniversary of their first screen test together on Threads and revealed that their chemistry was ‘like magic’ from the very beginning. He praised Corenswet and Brosnahan, saying:

“One year ago today, David and Rachel screen-tested for Clark and Lois. When they first read together it was like magic. What a wonderful year it’s been with two of the most extraordinary, vibrant, and meticulous actors I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. I can’t wait for you to see them on screen in just a little over a year.”

Gunn says the new DC Universe will be different from Marvel’s. He claims it will have a big, central story that is carefully planned out. It will feature different times and places like ‘Star Wars’ or ‘Game of Thrones,’ with morally complex characters.

‘Superman’ Will Premiere In A Little Over a Year

We’ll follow Superman as he tries to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. He represents truth, justice, and a better tomorrow, guided by human kindness in a world that often sees kindness as old-fashioned.

The cast includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica (The Engineer), Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt (Mr. Terrific), Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason (Metamorpho), Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe.

DC Studios’ new DC Universe slate includes several other projects that are underway. There will be a Supergirl movie titled ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,’ and other movies like ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ ‘Swamp Thing,’ and ‘The Authority.’ These do not have release dates yet.

On the TV side, there will be an animated ‘Creature Commandos’ series, the second season of ‘Peacemaker,’ and future shows like ‘Waller,’ ‘Booster Gold,’ ‘Lanterns,’ and ‘Paradise Lost.’ There are reports of an animated ‘Jurassic League’ movie and a live-action ‘Teen Titans‘ movie, but these aren’t officially confirmed.
