Harley Quinn Returns, But Not With Margot Robbie

She will be featured in several new DC projects, but Robbie won’t be part of them.

It turns out Margot Robbie will not be in any of the new Harley Quinn projects coming out this year.

As per DailyHighlight, Harley Quinn will be very busy this year. She’s appearing in three new animated TV series and one movie. The first project is ‘Suicide Squad Isekai,’ and it will come out on June 27. It will show Harley and other Suicide Squad members in a fantasy world filled with magical creatures.

On August 1, ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ will introduce a new version of Harley Quinn who is Asian American. It will feature a fun and playful Harleen Quinzel and a fierce Harley Quinn.

The biggest news is ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ which will be released on October 4. Lady Gaga will play a character named Lee, who is also Harley Quinn. She will star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in what will be the first superhero movie musical.

‘Harley Quinn’ season 5 is set to air sometime in 2025. This season will see Harley and Poison Ivy moving from Gotham City to Metropolis.

Robbie’s Future as Harley is Uncertain

James Gunn confirmed that there are no plans for a solo Harley Quinn series despite rumors. Gunn also said he would love to work with Robbie again — as Harley Quinn or another character in the DC Universe:

“I haven’t talked to Margot about Harley for a long time. But I’d love to work with her again as Harley or as someone else. There are no plans at this time for anyone else to play Harley (I mean, other than in Todd’s movie or the animated show/s.)”

Viola Davis and John Cena are confirmed to return to their roles, but Robbie’s return is still up in the air. There are no current plans to replace her with another actress, but the door is still open for her to come back as Harley Quinn in the future.
