‘Stranger Things’ Star Thinks Season 4 Finale Didn’t Feel Right

They had to reshoot it because he couldn’t show the right emotion the first time.

Gaten Matarazzo shares his thoughts on filming the scene when Eddie Munson sacrifices himself to save Dustin in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 finale.

Matarazzo plays Dustin Henderson in ‘Stranger Things.’ He recently admitted that they had to film Eddie’s death scene twice:

“We filmed that twice because I absolutely despised the first time we filmed that. He [Joseph Quinn] was so good and I just wasn’t centering. It was outside at 5:00 AM, we’d already done a whole day of filming, and we were just drained and I just didn’t, just wasn’t there. I didn’t feel right. And then we did the scene with his uncle in the gym at the school and then that went through and that felt a lot better.”

The Duffer brothers decided to redo Eddie’s death scene on a soundstage to match the emotional tone of the gym scene. Joseph Quinn agreed to reshoot the scene.

Eddie’s Return Is Still Possible

Eddie was introduced as the leader of Hawkins High School’s Dungeons & Dragons club and quickly became a fan favorite. He died in Season 4, but some fans hope he might come back in Season 5. Joseph Quinn has a busy schedule with several big projects, including Marvel Studios’ ‘The Fantastic Four.’ However, he didn’t rule out the chance of returning:

“I guess nothing’s impossible. I wouldn’t… I don’t know.”

‘Stranger Things” fifth and final season will star many of the original cast members, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Charlie Heaton, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Linda Hamilton is the only new cast member confirmed for Season 5.

The cast and crew are halfway through making Season 5. Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna, says this season will be even crazier than the last one.

There is no premiere date for Season 5 of ‘Stranger Things’ yet.
