Meryl Streep Is Rumored To Join MCU In Upcoming Projects, Marvel Studios Casting Director Explains

It seems the actress was actually in talks with the studio.

Last year’s rumors said Meryl Streep met with Marvel Studios about a possible role, and casting director Sarah Halley Finn recently hinted that they might be true.

Speaking with Variety at the ‘Agatha All Along’ premiere this week, Halley Finn shared her interest in casting Streep, saying she would love to see her in a Marvel project as “anything she wants.” When asked if she approached the actress on the matter, the director responded with a “maybe,” adding that they had not yet found the right role for her.

Marvel Studios has been reaching out to Hollywood stars as part of their Multiversal Saga. Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, Patrick Stewart, and more returned in films like ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ so far. Most recently, Robert Downey Jr. rejoined the MCU as Doctor Doom.

Other notable actors, such as Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, and Harrison Ford, have also joined various new projects. With the MCU continuing to expand, more names like Streep could appear in future films and series, though nothing is confirmed yet.

Marvel is currently promoting its latest series, ‘Agatha All Along.’ The show follows Kathryn Hahn’s character Agatha Harkness, from ‘WandaVision,’ as she sets on a journey to regain her powers.

The spinoff series is now streaming on Disney+.
