Hugh Jackman Teases Tom Brady: ‘Mate, You’ve Crossed a Line’

The actor just got involved in a playful feud between Birmingham City and Wrexham.

A lighthearted back-and-forth started between former NFL stars Tom Brady and Eli Manning ahead of the Birmingham City vs. Wrexham match on Monday evening. As the two jokingly fought over the number of their trophies, Hugh Jackman stepped in to support Wrexham, co-owned by Ryan Reynolds.

“Hey Tom, you made some valid points in your message, and I heard them well and they hurt a little bit, so I had to bring in my ringer, Hugh, here; he’s got a few trophies of his own,” the ex-Wrexham player said in a new video on X.

Jackman then walked in and warned, “Yeah, I do, you’re being too nice man. Listen, Tom, dude, I’m a big fan of you, but mate you’ve crossed a line. Two championships, six claws, that’s eight. Don’t start it. Come on Wrexham.” He added in the end, “I still love you, Tom.”

Wrexham co-owner, Rob McElhenney, had earlier welcomed Eli Manning into the club’s fanbase. The quarterback later tweeted, “Now I can beat Tom Brady in football and futbol! Go Wrexham!”

Brady, who owns a stake in Birmingham City, responded by referencing his seven NFL championships, the last of which he won in 2021. He posted a video showing one of his trophies, joking that he couldn’t find the other six.

Wrexham has won four games and drawn one in League One this year while Birmingham City has won three and drawn one in their matches. The Monday game between the two ended with Birmingham’s victory.
