Hilarie Burton Morgan Is Sure ‘One Tree Hill’ Sequel Will Be Better With The Female-Led Team

The actress will return to the screen in a Netflix sequel of The WB original.

Hilarie Burton Morgan talked about the upcoming ‘One Tree Hill’ reboot in a recent interview with People and shared how different working with a female-led team was from her experience in the original series.

“What I can say is that this go-around, being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories [and] these characters through a female lens is something that — whether I was doing a reboot or a brand-new show or a different movie at this phase in my life, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me,” the actress said.

“It is the core of anything I’ve done that’s successful,” she added. “So, I’m excited to be able to team up with people that I look up to, people that I love dearly.”

Burton Morgan will reunite with Sophia Bush for the new sequel. The two played Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis in the original ‘One Tree Hill’ that ran from 2003 to 2012. The cast also starred Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Paul Johansson, and Bethany Joy Galeotti.

The revival announcement came seven years after lead actresses accused the show creator Mark Schwahn of sexual harassment. Schwahn is yet to publicly address the allegations, but it’s clear he won’t be part of the upcoming Netflix project.

Burton Morgan and Bush will instead executive produce the sequel alongside former co-star Danneel Ackles.
