Charlie Cox Hypes Up ‘Long And Cool’ Oner In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

The new season is set to debut on Disney+ next year.

Charlie Cox recently shared some details about ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ at New York Comic Con, including a sneak peek into an intense fight scene.

‘Daredevil’s hallway fight from Season 1 and the stairwell fight from Season 2 were filmed to look like one continuous shot, known as ‘oners.’ Cox told Collider that there are different kinds of ‘oners.’ For example, in Season 1, Episode 2, the fight scene was a true ‘oner’ with no cuts. Some other scenes, like the one from Season 2, used hidden cuts where the camera would pass behind an object to look like one long shot.

In Season 3, Episode 4, Cox and his stunt double used a technique called ‘Texas switching,’ where they would switch places without cutting the camera. Cox shared how his stunt double would take over during the more dangerous moves, saying, “There’s literally a moment where I’m kicking someone on the floor, and my foot is in camera, someone yanks me out from behind, and the next foot that comes in was Chris’, my stunt double’s foot. It’s really fun.”

Cox also revealed that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will feature a fight scene similar to those in the original series. “Sometimes you get a little bit more freedom, and you can do slightly cool stuff,” he teased. “So, we have a very long, very cool stitched one in the new season.” He didn’t say which episode it will appear in, though.

The wait for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is almost over. The series will be released on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. The show was originally planned to be released earlier, but it was reworked from the ground up.

You can watch the original three seasons of ‘Daredevil’ on Disney+.
