Netflix delivered, kicking off the annual Stranger Things Day celebration by revealing the episode titles for the show’s fifth and final season.
Any information about ‘Stranger Things’ 5 was highly anticipated. The title of Episode 2, which Netflix released in the trailer and partially censored, drew significant attention. The second episode is titled, ‘The Vanishing of [Redacted],’ with the name of a character blurred out. A character is going missing in the series, but there is no information about which character or how this character disappeared.
The first episode of ‘Stranger Things’ was titled ‘The Vanishing of Will Byers.’ Some believe this could be a clue to what will happen in Season 5. Meanwhile, theories are emerging about who might disappear. Some speculate it could be another Byers family member, while others think it could be Max.
The final season will have eight episodes. The first one will be titled ‘Chapter One: The Crawl.’ Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Noah Schnapp (Will), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Winona Ryder (Joyce), and David Harbour (Hopper) will also return to the show.
The statements made by the actors raised expectations for the last season of the series. Jamie Campbell Bower said in Season 5“If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like it’s bonkers. It really, really is. It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane.”
The last episode will be ‘the best episode they’ve ever done,’ according to David Harbour. “The end of this [final] episode when we were reading it—just us reading it—about halfway through, people started crying,” Harbour said. “Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite.”
