Disney’s former casting and talent relations vice president, Cornelia Frame, recently shared how Zendaya tried out hard for an undisclosed role in the ‘Descendants’ franchise but failed. Her words during the the ‘Magical Rewind’ podcast read:
“Zendaya did audition many times for ‘Descendants,’ and that was a big deal. I mean, a really big deal that she auditioned over and over. She really wanted it, and it just ended up not going her way.”
The actress rose to fame as a child actor at Disney. She appeared in ‘Shake It Up’ with Bella Thorne and starred in ‘K.C. Undercover.’
The Actress Got Into Another Franchise
The ‘Descendants’ series featured Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce as the Disney villains’ kids from 2015 to 2019.
Despite not getting a role in the franchise, Zendaya joined other Disney Channel movies like ‘Frenemies’ in 2012 and ‘Zapped’ in 2014. She also played MJ opposite Tom Holland in 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and returned for its two followups.
She Will Return In The Next ‘Spider-Man’
The actress is expected to return in ‘Spider-Man 4’ soon. Kevin Feige confirmed this month that the project started moving forward after delays due to conflict between Marvel and Sony. He told io9:
“Amy [Pascal] and I are working on it. We have writers who are going to be delivering us a draft relatively soon.”
Rumors suggested that Marisa Tomei might also return in ‘Spider-Man 4.’
